A Prestigious Award for Oltre il Labirinto and the Hugbike

The NCB (Nato Charity Bazaar) has recently rewarded the italian Non Profit “Fondazione Oltre il Labirinto” and the Hugbike, the special tandem which allows the use of a bicycle even to those affected by Autism (www.hugbike.com), as one of the most innovative and efficient projects during the annual NCB ceremony which took place on Tuesday the 29th of January at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.

The project draw the NCB’s jury attention which has unanimously decided to reward Oltre il Labirinto as the only Italian Charity in the world.
 
Since 1968 the NCB has selected the most relevant and deserving projects among the hundreds of proposals and ideas sent from all over the world. For 2019 Italy has been represented by the idea carried out by Oltre il Labirinto, which represents and embodies the universal values of assistance, innovation and philanthropy that characterize the spirit of this historic and authoritative body.
 
Innovation, social inclusion, efficiency, these are the three main characteristics recognized to the Treviso non-profit organization.

The prestigious award was withdrawn by the Secretary of Oltre il Labirinto Carlo Giustini and Dr. Paola Matussi Psychologist and member of the Board of the Foundation.
 
"Thanks to this recognition we can give the joy of a healthy and beneficial bike ride to dozens of youngsters with Autism in complete safety," explains Dr. Matussi "An award which clearly tells us  that good ideas are the backbone of social welfare” adds Giustini.
 
The special bike which is litterally controlled by the driver at the back allows to persons with autism and other disabilities to sita at the front in complete safety. The bike is the result of an idea conceived, developed and still produced in Treviso, Northern Italy, where a group of workers with Autism assisted by Oltre il Labirinto are also involved weekly in some phases of its assembly.
